Your childhood favorite Popsicle all grown up in this refreshing Bomb Pop Granita Shot made with vodka, lime, cherry, and raspberry flavors.
Summers: They are made for chasing down the ice cream man.
The problem, of course, was convincing your mom to give you money before he left your street.
Then the second problem was deciding what to get.
More often than not I would get a Bomb Pop.
I still love them to this day.
Though usually get lured by Drumsticks when I go to that section of the grocery store.
But right now it’s hot.
Beyond hot.
Seattle broke its record for hottest June.
I think the same will happen for July.
It’s not pretty.
Don’t like it.
And I will not turn on the oven.
I halfway joked that I would only be making ice cream and booze on the blog during this time.
And well turns out not so much a joke. 🙂
While this is not ice cream it is certainly no bake and a frozen treat.
It also has the flavors of a bomb pop which is awesome.
And even more awesome is pouring vodka over it to make you not care that your neighbors see you splashing around in the dogs swimming pool just trying to survive the heat.
Now clearly these are red, white, and blue. So clearly they can be a 4th of July treat.
But really that wasn’t my intent at all when making these Bomb Pop Granita Shots.
It was just to make a summertime shot to enjoy all summer long.
My current favorite way to drink.
I hope everyone who celebrates has a happy and SAFE (I’m praying that we don’t have too many fires due to fireworks since our state is sooo dry) 4th of July!
Last but not least…it’s a great time to order my cookbook. 😀

- To make into shot:
- Layer the colors.
- If adding a Popsicle stick you might want to layer red, then white, then blue…since technically the blue is the “bottom” of the Popsicle.
- We got into a semi debate about how they should be layered.
- But since most aren’t’ going to do Popsicle sticks I also layered blue, then white, then red.If you are going to make this adult then pour vodka over the granita. It will turn purplish.
- I chose to do a lime vodka as the predominant flavors of the granita are the blue raspberry and cherry.

Is lime the flavor of the white part in the pops? I just got the rocket pop mold from Williams Sonoma & it didn’t come with a recipe so I’ve been trying to figure out what the white part is.

@kate- yes, the lime is the white
