These Dumpster Fire Fireball Jelly Shots are made with Fireball whiskey and pretty much sum up the year rather accurately.
Well, this year is almost over.
And I don’t think there really is a person on all of Earth who isn’t ready for it to be over.
While it was a hard year it did have a lot of positives for me as well.
Not just because my cookbook came out.
It was a year of spending a lot of time with myself.
And my husband.
The dogs too.
Almost a year without playing hockey.
Without hanging with my teammates, one of who we lost earlier this year.
But in spending so much time with myself it really re-focused what brings me joy.
True joy.
And sorry Marie Kondo…but a lot of stuff brings me joy.
I got a super cheap, super used but still works great dough sheeter earlier this year.
Which allows me to make pizza crust super thin and pastries super flaky.
After being on a waiting list for awhile I got a flour mill.
Not that exact one but one that is similar.
It’s been my new hobby lately.
I also learned that while pretty, I don’t want the Magnolia white or cream, black, with wood, and splash of pale rust color throughout my house.
If that is your thing then by all means, go for it.
But I personally love color.
And lots of it.
I also learned that I really like my husband.
While that may be a no brainer to some this was the year of a lot of divorce.
A lot of separation.
And sadly a lot of domestic violence.
My husband and I however just sat confused most of the times when a good chunk of our married friends complained constantly about all the extra time with their spouse.
While my husband always does extra stuff during this past year he has had to do even more.
Which he does without complaining.
He really is amazing.
I had originally planned to make these Dumpster Fire Jelly Shots for the election.
Because that was (and insanely continues) a dumpster fire onto itself.
But I did not get around to it and so they are a perfect way to say goodbye to 2020.
They are made with extra gelatin so that they are more like Jelly Jigglers.
It just made sense to use Fireball for a dumpster so that’s what I used.
I ended up only having Black Cherry gelatin but I would use regular cherry if I had it.
In addition to the Black Cherry I added some white food coloring to make it not be see through.
Should have done that to the green as well.
But hindsight.
P.S. It’s a great day to buy my cookbook Holy Sweet!
