Halloween Candy Chocolate Pie Fluffy is made with chocolate candy, Marshmallow, Gelatin, and whipped cream all in a crust of your choice.
So I actually first made this Halloween Candy Chocolate Pie last year for Halloween Treats Week.
Except I tend to do things last minute and after I made my pie and stuck it in the fridge something happened.
My pie didn’t set up.
Now, I have made many versions of this pie and it has always set up.
I waited.
And waited.
It never firmed up.
Until I realized, nothing was wrong with the pie, it was my fridge.
Yes, my fridge was running about 47F.
Which is a no-no.
It started my whole fridge saga that took six months to get sorted out.
So I had to unfortunately tell Angie (the organizer) that the pie was not happening.
I was bummed as it’s a yummy pie.
So I made sure when this year rolled around to get it done earlier just in case. 😀
When I made it last year I went with a more caramel chocolate theme. I used Milky Way, Caramel M and M’s, Twix, and some salted caramels from Costco.
It’s what we had in the house.
This time around it’s a combo of Hershey’s chocolate bars, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, and Milky Way.
That’s the bag of candy we have this year. 😀
I buy a ton of candy every year.
And pretend.
Pretend we have Trick or Treaters.
Because so far, in the almost 8 years we have lived here, we have yet to have one Trick or Treater.
Since we live out in farmland, there are no street lights or sidewalks and many of the houses are very far apart.
So it’s not the ideal situation for Trick or Treating.
You can really choose any combo you want.
But definitely try and stick with candy bars that kind of go together.
A peanut butter cup one with Reeses pieces and other peanut butter candy would be yummy.
Perhaps a chocolate toffee one?
Or a minty pie?
You really do have a lot of options.
I’ve never actually made a version of this using “real” pie crust.
Normally I do a chocolate cookie crumb or a graham cracker crust.
But, just like with the Count Chocula Pop Tarts, I had rough puff pie crust leftover and wanted to use it up.
Since it’s a heartier crust, this seemed to hold the filling better.
Makes me want to explore a chocolate rough puff pastry the next time I make this kind of pie.
But then again, I will probably just be lazy and use what I have. 😛
If you want to make this kind of crust you can use this recipe.
Just like in the pumpkin pie recipe you will only use 1/3 of the recipe.
Which is why I had leftovers in the freezer to use.

Halloween Candy Chocolate Pie
Ingredients
- 9-inch pie crust of your choosing (I went with my rough puff)
- For the Filling:
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup cold water, divided
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder
- 8 ounces Milk Chocolate candy bar (I used Hershey's), melted over a double boiler
- 1 cup Marshmallow Cream (Fluff)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
- diced up candy bar pieces....how many is up to you
Notes
Prepare the pie crust. You are going to want to do a full blind bake as the filling for this pie is not baked.
- For the Filling:
- In medium saucepan combine ½ cup cold water and gelatin; let stand 1 minute.
- Cook over medium low heat, and stir constantly, until gelatin is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla, salt, unsweetened cocoa powder, and remaining water. Whisk until they are fully incorporated.
- Using a stand mixer (or hand mixer) beat together the gelatin mixture, melted chocolate, and marshmallow fluff.
- Chill in the bowl until mixture mounds when dropped from spoon (this was about 20 minutes).
- Fold in whipped cream.
- Mix using a spatula until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the candy pieces.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Spread evenly and place in fridge for four hours.

We, too, live in a rural area and have not beggers and I, too, still buy bags of Halloween candy….now I know what to do with it.
